Problems with getting out of bed, you need a Dawn simulator.
If you are anything like me and have problems getting up in the morning you definitely need a Lumie Bodyclock Starter 30. I have tried many different types of alarm clocks and always have the same problem. Basically I am tired and I don’t want to get up. I used to set an alarm on a bedside clock and about 2 different alarms on my mobile. I use the snooze options constantly and will eventually force myself out of bed, still feeling tired and unhappy.
Dawn simulator alarm clock
The Lumie Bodyclock Starter 30 basically simulates the sun rising in your bedroom. You set the time you wish to wake up and 30 minutes before hand the light will start to come on and will gradually get brighter until on full beam. It will then stay on for 30 minutes. Basically it gives you a more natural feeling of gradually waking up. It is also so much easier to get out of bed when light is already on.
Startled by a noise in the dark
Being forcefully woken up is bad for you. It can put you in a bad mood all day. But by having dawn simulation you start to be aware of the light in the room while still sleeping. Thus preparing your mind while asleep to prepare to get up. Being slowly woken up by a gradual light is a much more refreshing way to start the day than by being startled by a noise in the dark.

The Lumie body clock starter 30 comes with a powerful 42 watt halogen bulb which has 2000 hours lifetime and is easy to replace. I have had mine for nearly two years and haven’t needed to replace the bulb yet, but the replacements are cheap and it is easy to open the unit up. On full beam it can be easily used as a bedside light. It also has a reverse function where you can have it on full beam and it will gradually dim for 30 minutes until off. This could be particularly useful for children who are afraid of going to sleep in the dark. It can also be a nice relaxing way to fall asleep.
Alarm noise and snooze
Like most alarm clocks you have the option of waking up to a normal alarm tone and have full snooze options as well. I actually prefer setting it with just the wake-up light alarm to go off and have a tone go off on my mobile. Also the LED with the time display is turned off when you set the alarm at night. This means you don’t have to worry about glare from the light with the time on. By pressing any of the buttons on the clock’s panel it will show you the time, while being pressed..

It is mains powered so you don’t have to worry about batteries running out. Before I bought this I did try a cheap one for about £15, it wasn’t very good at all. It was battery powered so they needed to be replaced all the time. The light only had about 3 different settings, so there was nothing particularly gradual about it. It is not worth going too cheap if you want a dawn simulator alarm clock, this is by far the best for the price.
